Basic Experiment #1Digital Output & Sound Beginner

Blinking LED & Buzzer

Master digital pin output control by driving a visual indicator (LED) and audible alert (Buzzer) in synchronization with timed delays.

Expected Outcome & Behavior:

LED illuminates and the buzzer emits a continuous beep for exactly 1 second, then both silence and switch off for 1 second continuously.

Tinker-Club Quick Hints:
  • Anode (+) is the longer lead of the LED; flat notch side is cathode (-).
  • Always insert the 220Ω resistor in series with the LED to protect the digital pin.
  • Active buzzers will sound a steady pitch as soon as 5V HIGH logic is supplied.

Wiring Walkthrough:

Connect the LED anode (long leg) through a 220Ω resistor to UNO pin D13, with cathode (short leg) to GND. Connect the positive terminal of the active buzzer to pin D8 and the negative terminal to GND.

Common Ground Rule: Always connect a common GND between the Arduino and every module. Never omit 220Ω series resistors for LEDs.
